To prepare students for a future in public health, the Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology (MPH-SE) program was created. Understanding the social and environmental causes of health and disease, preventing illness, promoting good health, and planning health care systems that are accessible to all are all part of the study of public health, which is the study of population health.

The goal of this program is to give students a conceptual understanding of current public health issues as well as the knowledge and skills necessary to develop urgently needed evidence-based planning, improve state health systems, and support the technical execution of national health programs. Graduates will have the skills necessary to conduct relevant research in support of public health policy and plan for the successful execution of public health initiatives. The MPH degree can be finished over a maximum of five years from the date of enrolment, but it is intended to be finished in two years (4 semesters). The curriculum consists of three internships, a research project, and taught courses.

The MPH program has produced graduates who are now working for important national organizations like the National AIDS Control Organization, Health Systems Resource Centers of the Ministry of Health at state or national levels, in significant nonprofit organizations like CARE-India, Catholic Relief Service, and Aga Khan Health Services, India, or with an increasing number of corporate social responsibility initiatives. Many alumni have chosen to work for organizations that support global public health, such as the UN, WHO, and World Bank, or they have joined doctoral programs in public health where they work as full-time researchers and educators in this field.
