Description

Organizations must constantly adjust to the environment's changes. Professionals who can build resilient organizations and empower communities to better respond to changes in economies, markets, and technology are needed as the pace of environmental change is accelerating. The information and abilities that will be developed through this program will be in leadership, change, and organization development.

The field of organizational development (OD) is particularly important in the current climate of rapid and significant change. By providing two separate approaches (perspectives, methodologies, and interventions), OD helps organizations to change. These are (i) developing people so they can alter their organizations and (ii) redesigning the organization to maximize the potential of its employees. The first strategy uses techniques including coaching, counseling, learning and development, conflict resolution, negotiation, and appreciative inquiry. The latter includes techniques like supply-chain optimization, strategy and business model design, governance and organizational structure design, innovation, quality and cost management, digital transformation, change management, and stakeholder experience design. Both paradigms are equally vital for the growth of organizations, and both theory and practice are covered in our course. Students who enroll in the MA in ODCL program learn how to support the OD process, including:

  1. Recognizing an organizational structure
  2. Comprehending the objectives and issues of the organization
  3. Identifying problems, their sources, and developing solutions
  4. Investigating ideas, creating, and putting into practice solutions
  5. Changing to the upcoming state

Our curriculum changes students on a personal and professional level. Students get a deeper awareness of themselves as well as of organizational strategy, behavioral science, operational excellence, and the interaction between system and human processes.  Students can learn about how the fourth industrial revolution is bringing about a system of interconnected elements that have major, but frequently hidden, effects on one another through this curriculum.

This curriculum is taught by renowned academicians and professionals from the business world. Our goal in providing this MA in ODCL is to create leaders that are comprehensive, creative, and successful for both business and society.

Lectures, case studies, simulations, fieldwork, internships, service learning, and a lab on human processes are all part of our teaching.

Consider applying for our M.A. in Organization Development, Change, and Leadership if you are passionate about OD and eager to put in the work necessary to create this discipline.

Prior to attending the personal interview, candidates are advised to read at least one of the following books to get a better understanding of the subject:

  1. Organization Development and Change [10th Edition] by Thomas G. Cummings and Christopher G. Worley [Cengage].
  2. Organization Development: Behavioral Science Interventions For Organizational Improvement [6th Edition] by Wendell L. French, Cecil H. Bell Jr., and Veena Vohra [Pearson].
  3. Organization Development: Accelerating Learning and Transformation [Second Edition] by S. Ramnarayan and T. V. Rao [Sage].
  4. HRD, OD, and Institution Building: Essays in Memory of Udai Pareek Edited by T. V. Rao and Anil K. Khandelwal [Sage].
